One of the translators for our application has asked whether it is possible to use multiple reference languages at once. This would be useful to, for example, look at both the English original and the German translation in order to create the Italian version.

Cross-referencing with other translations makes it easier to enhance one's own understanding, and having original and other translations side by side makes this convenient. It might be useful to still highlight the original (project's Default Reference Language) to establish a hierarchy of authority in case there are deviations.

Our suggestion would be to allow viewing multiple languages in ordinary translation view. Changing the reference language repeatedly is a tedious procedure, so it is unlikely translators would ordinarily go through the trouble most of the time.
