rest api - add, sync with PO/POT files
Would it be possible to add the possibility to import through the rest api files in PO/POT file format in add to the JSON?
1 voteNow you can import the files using API.

default reference language
I've found that each time I add a language, I have to set its reference language; and each time I flush its definitions, I have to set it again. I would like to designate one language as the default reference language, or at least set the reference language for each language and not lose that setting if I flush the definitions.
1 voteYou can now set the Reference Language for your projects from your Project Settings. This will automatically become the reference language for all contributors. They will be able to individually to pick a different language if they choose to, provided that you have previously granted them access to that language.

Translation memory open availability option
The translation memory is correctly shared across one admin projects.
Can, only as a wanted option, the Admin decide to share his/her translations making them a kind of "open source"?
As said it would be only an option and not the rule.
1 voteYou can now grant accest to your account’s Translation Memory to collaborators (who will also be able to make use of their own Translation Memory, consisting in all their translations across different projects on POEditor)

REST API
Build a REST API to enable scripted access to the service. Key functions are uploading new terms by posting a PO file and getting PO or MO files as export for each language. Notifications to contributors when projects are not 100% translated after an import nice to have. Complete project management through REST not necessary at this time.
14 votesPOEditor now has its own API! With this feature, you will be able to completely renounce handling translation files – all new terms will be imported directly to your projects.
More info on how to use it here
https://poeditor.com/api_reference/
To get access to the API, you will need an API token. Go to My Account > Options > API access and press the Unlock button.The implementation was a bit different than your proposal: we are still thinking if we are going to move whole bulk files and parse them.
We preferred a way that would not restrict people to a certain format and they can freely load/download their terms or definitions from POEditor.com -
Add Comments to individual strings
In software like Poedit I often use comments to explain certain text or phrases to the people translating the document. It would be nice to be able to do this on poeditor.com as well.
23 votesFirst comment will be imported/exported to the files also.

Ability To Reference Base Language From Editor
I think it would be helpful if you could view a base language side by side with the language that you are editing. So for example, if I ask a translator to translate my strings in German, the translator would be able to see the English strings from the German editor page.
5 votesYou can now set a reference language.
Just go to Options > Set reference language

Context and Comment Visibility
If available, the context and comment should be show by default without hoovering the term:
in effect, when you translate you do usually a mechanical work, so an help to put attention on something which is commented or context specific is useful.
I'd suggest to have comments and context always visible

Get language percentage with API Rest
Would it be possible to export in the JSON also the percentage of language translation completion? It would be helpful for both users and contributors.
I'd add it to the request
"List Project's Languages"
I'd show the actual perc number with 2 decimals (eg: 98,25)
1 voteThere it is!

Show multiple translation simultaneously
It would be nice to see other translations for the same term.
This is highly useful when controlling terms and make sure they have the same meaning in all translations.6 votesYou can now set a reference language, for guidance.
Just go to Options > Set reference language

Corrupted .po exports
My .po files are prefixed with:
tors is appropriate.
if (count($elementstack) == 1) {
return $elementstack[0];
}
else {
return FALSE;
}
}}
?

Last updated timestamps
I would like to see a timestamp both for when the terms last changed for a language and when a translator last made a change for a language.
Having the same thing for the Project would be a bonus, but mostly I am after seeing when the translators last did some work.
This can be seen as a bit of a duplicate of functionality to the requested notifications. But I think it would be nice to see it in the web interface as well.

Encoding for the email
Hi,
I like very much poeditor. Its clean and easy to use. I've noticed that you send emails in iso-8859-1 but if an user has non-iso-8859-1 glyphs in his name then you will get unprintable chars in the email. I'm referring to invitation email. Is there a reason why you don't use UTF-8 in email templates?
1 voteFixed that.
Thank you! -
Empty translations
I am quite new to gettext. But isn't it bad that non translated strings gets included in the .po/.mo files? I would prefer that my base language is shown when there is no translation, instead of that the strings just disappear.
3 votesMO files will miss now the empty translations. Thanks!

OBSOLETE TERMS
The interface provides the ability to delete a single term. For our workflow, the translator usually does not know that a single term should be deleted because the files are all generated. We generate new POT files that contain all the active terms. It would be nice to have the ability to upload a POT file which has the with the option 'delete all terms marked obsolete'. Or add a classification to terms to be marked 'Obsolete' in the user interface and based on import similar to how terms can be marked fuzzy. Obsolete terms would be excluded from export.

4 votesWith the new tagging system you can manage and perform bulk actions on a group of terms. You can also exclude certain groups of terms on export now.

Finnish language
Any reason why I am not able to add Finnish as a language? It's the only one of the ~10 languages I want that isn't supported.
1 voteYou can choose between ~200 languages.
For Finnish you only need to press ‘Show all’ under the default select (where you can see ~10 top used languages). -

Bug when using & character
Hello,
Love the service! I found a bug when adding definitions if you use the '&' character, anything that comes after that is not saved.
For example if I enter the following definition:
'John & Mike'
I gets saved as:
'John '
Thanks!
