To not count non-tranlsatable strings into the quota
It would be great if non-translatable strings don't get put towards the quota

Sort by last changes in reference language
In an ongoing project a translator needs the possibility to sort by "last changes in reference language". The "fuzzy" flag isn't safe to rely on.
I'm a voluntary translator (of many) in a project, where the reference language is changed by different developers, and most of them only have the right to modify, but not to manage. And non of them is using the "fuzzy flag for other languages" since the day the main designer has left the project (who was the only one using that flag).
And currently the reference language is undergoing a maintenance cycle, some changes needs…4 votes -
Strings and limits
I was under the impression that a 'string' was a single 'term' and that the 170 terms used in our app that included around 8 languages would be fine under the 'free' service so we could test this before uploading our common file. Can you confirm that I'm doing this right?
1 voteTerms and translations are considered “strings”.
A project’s total number of strings is the sum of its terms and translations. The total number of strings in your account is the sum of the strings in all the projects hosted on your account.

When importing and Poeditor reports obsolete terms, the report should include context
When I import terms from a .pot file, POEditor detects obsolete terms. However, the report does not include the context so it is very difficult to find out which term is the obsolete/duplicate one.
Please add context information to the report.

Obsolete terms detected incorrectly when importing .pot file
When I import a .pot file, POEditor reports 125 obsolete terms even if the terms are in .pot file.
For example, the .POT file contains:
msgid "TopicArea|Fa icon"
msgstr ""Still POEditor reports the term as obsolete every time we import the file.
1 votePlease make sure that the context of the terms in the .pot file matches the context of the terms in your POEditor project.
If the context doesn’t match, our system will interpret the terms in your file as different terms: https://poeditor.com/kb/duplicate-terms

basic function with yaml not working
I imported a yaml through bitbucket connection and it imports the string tags and translates the string tags... i cannot see the translation of the string itself. Not sure what to do and the software layou does not seem to help me find my way?
1 voteIf you added your source language to POEditor and linked it to your source file on Bitbucket, you need to first use ‘Get terms’ to import the keys/string ids (as it sounds like you already did) and then ‘Import translations from’ to get the values.
https://poeditor.com/kb/localization-file-management-with-github-bitbucket-and-gitlab-integrations
After importing the values, go to the project’s settings and set your source language as Default Reference Language, and it will be displayed in your target languages.

Create a POEDITOR feature to integrate into live-apps to enable users to suggest a translation for any string & send it to the dashboard.
Create a POEDITOR feature that developers could optionally integrate into their live-apps which would allow app-users to suggest a translation for any string in the app and send it to the dashboard for review/approval.
This "Suggest translation"-feature could be activated via app settings, or via shake, etc...
When "Suggest translation" mode is active, editable strings get highlighted/underlined and the user can EG. triple-tap any highlighter/underlined string on the screen to select it and suggest a translation/correction in any available language (selectable from a list.) (selections are modifiable, but are saved and set as default for that user/device)
The user can…

add mo link
Hey, when I link a file to make a po-export via github link and then later on decide I also want to export an mo-file, it is quite labor intensive to make the change. It would be good if one could change the mo-export setting.

Plural support for Chinese
Your plural feature explicitly have Chinese disabled, which is a mistake. Even though Chinese words does not have plural forms, the phrases can be different depending on the quantity.
e.g.
This book -> 这本书
These books -> 这些书Please enable plural support for Chinese, or at least allow users to enable it manually.
3 votesOur platform manages plurals based on each language.
We try to adapt each translation to what (native) translators might expect, and guide ourselves by the same link you shared: http://www.unicode.org/cldr/charts/latest/supplemental/language_plural_rules.html
As you can see, Unicode recommends just one form for Chinese.
If you want custom plurals for a language, note that you can create Custom languages: https://poeditor.com/kb/custom-languages
Custom languages inherit the plural forms from an existing language of your choice.

Multiple reference languages
One of the translators for our application has asked whether it is possible to use multiple reference languages at once. This would be useful to, for example, look at both the English original and the German translation in order to create the Italian version.
Cross-referencing with other translations makes it easier to enhance one's own understanding, and having original and other translations side by side makes this convenient. It might be useful to still highlight the original (project's Default Reference Language) to establish a hierarchy of authority in case there are deviations.
Our suggestion would be to allow viewing multiple…

Removing and adding contributers
Make this so that the page doesn't reload each time. This process is rather painful when adding and removing a large number of contributors to languages.
Alternatively, have a better UI system for mass importing contributors.

Export for Android without quotes
Android export uses quotes for strings. This leads to ignored control characters. E. g. special characters like a dash (–) is displayed as a string "–" if set under quotes but should be "-".
Add a setting for export without quotes would be useful.
1 votePlease note that we escape & < and > from the interface. But you could have them untouched if you enclose them in cdata.
Alternatively, you can simply put a dash instead of the code in the string and import it as such. -
Bulk contribtors management
Hi,
It is very long and repetitive to manage contributors in a multi project environment. Creation, provisioning as well as deletion needs to be done per project per contributor.
It would be very appreciated to be able to perform bulk actions such as adding contributors to multiple projects at once, creating multiple contributor accounts at once, deleting multiple accounts at once, deleting one account of all projects at once...Thank you for your understanding
0 votesYou can now group your contributors into teams in order to bulk assign them to project languages: https://poeditor.com/kb/poeditor-teams

Order by percentage in dashboard list view
In the dashboad list view of the projects it would be helpfull to not just order by name and date, but also by percentage.
Reason is to have the ones with missing translations on top.

Export as Multilanguage CSV and define CSV field separator
In https://pimcore.com the Shared Translations CSV file uses the following format:
key;en;id;lang3 etc....
(the key);(English translation);(Indonesian translation);(more languages translation)Where en;id;... are the languages.
Please support exporting into this format so that we can manage translations centrally in POEditor and import to Pimcore easily.

Github integration with access token
Github integration is allowed only for the owner of the project... That's really not good for entreprise usage as if this person is in holiday, all the integration is freeze because no body can run the export...
By allowing the usage of a GitHub token it will allow anyone to export to GitHub and respect privacy of users as the token given will have only rights to do that exports to the repo and nothing more.
6 votesYou can use the GitHub integration with an access token: https://poeditor.com/help/how_to_translate_a_language_file_from_a_github_project
But the participation of the owner is still required to make the setup in this case. However, after the owner makes the setup with GitHub (links the project languages to files on GitHub), they can always generate webhooks to import/export data: https://poeditor.com/help/how_to_use_the_github_webhook
Anyone can trigger these webhooks, they don’t even need a POEditor account. -
Add Slack notification when all Fuzzy translations in the project have been unflagged
We need to somehow keep track of what our translations are doing with fuzzy texts. It would be good to have a Slack notification when all Fuzzy texts for project have been unchecked for admin to verify.
Also perhaps it's reasonable to consider change of Flag Fuzzy as update of translation.. So you can sort by updated and see texts that have been marked as not fuzzy.
