  2. Android export uses quotes for strings. This leads to ignored control characters. E. g. special characters like a dash (–) is displayed as a string "–" if set under quotes but should be "-".

Add a setting for export without quotes would be useful.

Please note that we escape & < and > from the interface. But you could have them untouched if you enclose them in cdata.
Alternatively, you can simply put a dash instead of the code in the string and import it as such.

  3. We use a callback event on language completed to call an POEditor webhook to export to VSTS.

As we can only add one callback to the 'Language completed', the automatic export only works for one language in the project. Allowing to enter multiple URLs for one callback event would solve our problem

  4. Will you be paying all the translators in the language section accordingly.
Here are the supported links that you seek helpers to translate it all.
Please let us know if whether we will be paid or do it for free or be rewarded by something elses. Thank you for understanding.

The POEditor team does not pay translators. We are also not involved in any way in the management of the projects hosted on our platform.

Any payment/reward for translations is between the translator and the POEditor user receiving the translations.

  5. Just letting you know I think you have a great product here! ... I will likely be translating some of my apps and this looks like it could stream line the process a lot ... assuming someone actually translates the words :)

I think the API is going to be key, because I cant see myself manually copying all the translations back into my apps :)

  7. We have to enter the a company credit card every time we have to order translations, even though our main account already has a saved card that gets billed monthly.

We are medium sized company, and not everyone has access to the company credit card which slows us down. Which is a pity because ordering translations from within POEditor gives us incredible time savings

Chinese simplified and Chinese Traditional are among the target languages offered by Gengo.
Also, these options are available in the translation order language menu in POEditor.

However, please note that not all source languages have Chinese simplified and Chinese Traditional as available target languages, so please make sure you select a source which does pair with these target languages (like English).

If you require further assistance, please contact us at info@poeditor.com and include any information relevant to your case.

  9. In the dashboad list view of the projects it would be helpfull to not just order by name and date, but also by percentage.

Reason is to have the ones with missing translations on top.

  12. Make this so that the page doesn't reload each time. This process is rather painful when adding and removing a large number of contributors to languages.

Alternatively, have a better UI system for mass importing contributors.

  13. Hey, when I link a file to make a po-export via github link and then later on decide I also want to export an mo-file, it is quite labor intensive to make the change. It would be good if one could change the mo-export setting.

If you added your source language to POEditor and linked it to your source file on Bitbucket, you need to first use ‘Get terms’ to import the keys/string ids (as it sounds like you already did) and then ‘Import translations from’ to get the values.

    https://poeditor.com/kb/localization-file-management-with-github-bitbucket-and-gitlab-integrations

After importing the values, go to the project’s settings and set your source language as Default Reference Language, and it will be displayed in your target languages.

    https://poeditor.com/kb/setting-a-default-reference-language

  15. When I import a .pot file, POEditor reports 125 obsolete terms even if the terms are in .pot file.

For example, the .POT file contains:

    msgid "TopicArea|Fa icon"
    msgstr ""

Still POEditor reports the term as obsolete every time we import the file.

  16. When I import terms from a .pot file, POEditor detects obsolete terms. However, the report does not include the context so it is very difficult to find out which term is the obsolete/duplicate one.

Please add context information to the report.

  17. I was under the impression that a 'string' was a single 'term' and that the 170 terms used in our app that included around 8 languages would be fine under the 'free' service so we could test this before uploading our common file. Can you confirm that I'm doing this right?

  19. As we have 1 API to get all the terms for one language and one project.

There should be some API available to get all the terms for multiple projects or multiple languages in one call. It might decrease the load on your servers alot.

  20. I am consistently looking for a string in the term view so I can see all of the languages in one place.

I'd love to be able to search by the actual UI text and not the developer terms to find terms.
