Set Tags per Language
Just as a comment set in a specific language is marked with a corresponding language flag, it should be possible to set tags in a specific language and mark those tags with the corresponding language flag.
Tags can be set only in the Terms list. However, tags are necessary per langauge, especially for export.
For example, I want all strings with a certain content to be exported. I can either export them exclusively if they are tagged or fuzzy. Setting them as "Fuzzy" is not helpful, since other unrelated strings may be marked as Fuzzy, too. I don't want to…1 vote -
Change Default Export Settings (Properties Files)
When exporting properties files, I have to choose Export > Show Advanced > select Translated Only.
I have to do this for each language and for each development sprint. This bears great risk, because selecting the wrong option (e.g. All instead of Translated Only) may cause problems in our software when uploading the properties files (and has done so before).

Callback / webhook on translation changed
We cache our translations on a CDN. In order to update or cache we use a cronjob that updates all languages every 15 minutes.
It would be much more effective if we could get a callback / webhook for every change.
1 voteFor the time being, the only callbacks we have available are for the language proofread/language completed/term added events: https://poeditor.com/kb/how-to-use-poeditor-callbacks
There is no callback for when a translation is added/changed because this could easily become spammy, as translations are saved automatically in POEditor.
However, keeping the date of the last export and comparing it with the date a language was last updated in the project, you can find out if any other translations have been made.
You can use this method to see when the languages were last updated: https://poeditor.com/docs/api#languages_list

Placeholders
Does POEditor support Placeholders for JSON file?
1 voteYou can add any placeholders you want to your strings. However, we will notify translators about the following, if they miss any in their translations: https://poeditor.com/kb/placeholder-validation

Export into custom JSON format file
Please find below a sample of i18n chrome standard JSON file
{
"key": {
"message": "translation",
"description": "Description of a message",
"placeholders": {
"ph_1": {
"content": "Actual string that's placed within a message.",
"example": "Example shown to a translator."
},
...
}
},
...
}Is there any possibility just with normal key(term) value(translation), be able to export into this format
1 voteThere isn’t a way to export in that format, but you can rebuild the file in any way you want using the API: https://poeditor.com/docs/api

"Pull requests" like contributions
Hi, is it possible to implement a workflow similar to "pull requests" like the ones in Github? what I mean is: we want to let anybody to contribute with our projects, but when a contributor edits an entry, it would not change the original translation but create a "draft", a "proposal", that needs to be approved before saved.
Is there any configuration / workflow similar to the one I'm describing?
Regards,
1 votePerhaps adding an extra proofreading step to your workflow could help: https://poeditor.com/kb/proofreading-translations
Instead of exporting all translations to GitHub, you could add export filters on your links with GitHub files, so that only the proofread strings are exported. You can find more info on how to set export filters in the section ‘Importing and exporting string’ of this article: https://poeditor.com/kb/localization-file-management-with-github-bitbucket-and-gitlab-integrations

Please Move Add Term To Top!
Hi. A very common workflow is to add a new term to a project. But right now you have to tap the Terms button and then scroll all the way to the bottom just to find the Add Term button. It is super annoying. Please add a second Add Term button to the top of the list. Thanks.

Can you add a preview page on import of the file where I can see the changed, new and deleted terms & translations before the actual import happens?

texts format is broken when exporting the translations
Hello,
with our developers we noticed that for a text with a format on our mobile app (bold for example), when we export the POEditor translation to update the mobile app texts, the format of the text is broken.Here is an example :
<string name="support_phone_number"><b>09 73 28 96 71</b>(Prix d'un appel local)</string>
becomes
<string name="support_phone_number">"<b>09 73 28 96 71</b>
(Prix d'un appel local)"</string>It also breaks the links or any tags that are attached to the text label.
Kind regards

Un-Intuitive Interface
I just signed up and had issues finding "where" I can add a new term.
Up to the point where I thought you are not providing this feature!I was expecting to find it (first) ON TOP (second) of the list OF A LANGUAGE. It shouldn't matter which language list I am looking at right now. I want to add a term while I am there.
Going to my project overview and then to terms and then to scroll to the bottom to find that button? That's not really intuitive for a feature that is needed like right after you…

JSON export changes indentation
I imported a JSON file from GitHub. When exporting it back to the repo, the indentation was changed from 2 spaces to 4 spaces. This setting should either be preserved, or configurable.
All other files in the repository are using 2-spaces indentation.
1 voteUnfortunately, there is no way to change the indentation size. Our export standard is with 4 whitespaces, which is the most common from what we’ve found after analyzing a ton of key-value JSON language files.
The only way to change the indentation would be using the API (https://poeditor.com/docs/api), by post-processing the JSON file after exporting it from POEditor.

bug
can't find the correct repo, out of 4 repos of my account, finds only one and is the correct one to llink to
1 voteHi. We can see that you have multiple repos available to select from, and that your integration is set up.
So we’re guessing you managed to find the repo you were looking for and link the files to the languages in your project.
If you require further assistance, please feel free to email us at info@poeditor.com with further details.

Add Project button moved to top
I'd like to suggest that the Add Project button be moved to the top. I have to scroll to the bottom of my project list to add. It would be more convenient if it appeared at the top of the list.

send email to contributors on addition of new terms
There should be a functionality that once the term is added, it should be notified to all the project contributors . this is a much needed thing.
1 voteWhen you add new terms to a project (or for any other reasons) you can send notifications to all the users assigned to the project using the Notify button in the project page, as described in the section ‘Notifying everyone assigned to the localization project’ of this article: https://poeditor.com/kb/how-to-send-notifications-to-translators
Users can filter by Show > Untranslated in the translation pages to see which terms lack translations in the language at hand: https://poeditor.com/kb/how-to-filter-strings-localization-project

The problem with using with Unreal Engine
Hi.
This tool is so perfect, but one problem keeps me from using it.
Some of the text in my .po file contains "\r\n", which will divide them into several lines through this tool and will not be available for the Unreal Engine project.
I hope there will be a solution related to this.
Thanks.
1 votePOEditor’s behavior is to convert \r\n to \n on export so that it works with all our supported formats.
Could you perhaps use only \n in your code for newlines?
Usually that can be done by changing your IDE settings to encode new lines as \n instead of \r\n.
